Gokuu arrives at Kame House, ready to train, but Kamesennin has conditions: bring him a sexy gal. Distinguishing attractiveness is rather difficult for Gokuu, however, so he fails at it a few times. Another boy -- a monk named Kuririn -- arrives to train as well.

This is where the dub starts to get really good, as they no longer rely on the scripts from the 1995 dub. The editing is much more clever, and the dialogue is VERY similar to the original.

Kuririn is called "Krillin", which is certainly close to the pronunciation, but it has nothing to do with the "kuri" pun.

After Gokuu looks through the window at Kame House, 14 seconds of Kamesennin watching the girls do leg exercises is replaced with 4 seconds of Kamesennin watching them do that chest bending down thing.

(6 seconds) After Gokuu eats the meat and drinks the stuff, footage of Kamesennin watching the girls do thigh exercises, and Gokuu starting to climb up the fridge, is cut.

The label on Kamesennin's beer is painted out, and the beer itself is painted blue to look like water.

When Kamesennin asks Gokuu if he knows what type of gal he likes just before Gokuu departs, Gokuu's original response was: one with no weewee.

Kamesennin's asking Gokuu to go ask the mermaid for her panties is changed to asking her to go on a walk. And Gokuu's saying she can't because she's only wearing a shirt, is changed to saying she'd rather swim.

(2 seconds) Just before the shot of Kamesennin with the handkerchief to his nose, footage of him getting a nosebleed is cut.

Kamesennin's asking to poke at the mermaid's breasts is changed to a lame pick-up line. Equally deserving of the punch, I guess...

The first magazine Kuririn gives Kamesennin has a bikini painted on the girl (she was originally naked), and "DATING" painted over that. "Dating Services", not porn...
