Volume 14さらなる飛躍
157: 不死身の決戦!!
Piccolo is gonna show Gokuu the ferocity of his full power, and Gokuu says he'll go all out as well. Piccolo charges up a bit, then rushes at Gokuu and swings at him, but Gokuu jumps over it, over behind Piccolo. Piccolo then turns around, and delivers a hard punch to Gokuu's back. The punch sends Gokuu flying into the ground, with the impact creating a large crater. Piccolo laughs about his victory, and Tenshinhan thinks it's all over. But then there's a "Ka..." from the crater, and Tenshinhan and Piccolo take notice. "Me... Ha... Me..." Gokuu shoots up from the crater, and "Haaaaa!!!!", fires a Kamehameha down at Piccolo. Piccolo holds his hands out to catch it, but Gokuu then swerves it at the last second. The Kamehameha is directed to the side of Piccolo, then comes around and hits him in the back of the head. Tenshinhan can't believe Gokuu bent a Kamehameha, as Gokuu yells at Piccolo to get back up. Piccolo says Gokuu's a freak, and Gokuu responds with a "we're equal in that respect". Gokuu jumps up at Piccolo with a kick, but Piccolo blocks it, and hits Gokuu with a knee. Gokuu kicks at Piccolo again, and Piccolo blocks again, then punches Gokuu off. Piccolo rushes after Gokuu, but Gokuu kicks off the ground and makes a 90° turn. Piccolo does the same to keep the chase, and so Gokuu touches the ground with his hands, and kicks back at Piccolo. Tenshinhan feels completely outclassed. 158: 孫悟空 最大の危機!!
Piccolo kicks Gokuu, and Gokuu jumps up and punches Piccolo in the gut, then Piccolo elbows down on Gokuu's head. Gokuu does a mid-air roundhouse kick, then elbows Piccolo in the face, punches him in the gut, and finally kicks Piccolo off. Up inside one of the castle's buildings, The King and his two guards hear some noises outside. One guard dude says Piccolo's not at West City, and so The King looks out, and wonders who those other two are. Piccolo shoots some eye lasers at Gokuu, with one hard direct hit to Gokuu's right knee. Piccolo laughs and says he can't possibly win with only one leg, but Gokuu insists one leg is plenty. Piccolo comes at Gokuu, and so Gokuu pulls out his bo, and makes it extend, shooting Gokuu up into the air so that he can elbow Piccolo in the face. One guard dude thinks they should let the world's future be decided by these kids, and The King reluctantly agrees, and they decide to escape. Piccolo is pissed about this strange bo, as the little plane continues heading towards King Castle. Yamcha says they'll be there in ten minutes, and hopes Tenshinhan doesn't die. Blooma says West City still hasn't been destroyed, and cheers Tenshinhan-san on. A news reporter comes in on the little plane's TV, and says Piccolo's still at King Castle, with two people opposing him. They show an image from the long distance camera, too dangerous to get closer, and says it seems like one of them is a young man. It seems like the one fighting is a little boy, though it's really hard to tell. Blooma wonders if the little boy isn't Son-kun, but Yamcha insists Gokuu's dead. Blooma says nobody saw him dead, and then reminds him of what Uranai Baba had said: "He's really such an amazing kid. Before long, he'll rescue the whole world." Yamcha realizes it must be Gokuu, and they all get excited as they continue towards the battle grounds. Speaking of which, Piccolo is really pissed, and he starts powering up for something. Then he shoots off a one finger blast from his right hand, missing, though a shot from his left hand breaks the Nyoi Bo in half. Piccolo says it's all over without that bo, and then fires off a huge blast, causing a big explosion. 159: 荒野の大格闘!!
The explosion continues, and Yamcha wonders why the TV's cut out in their plane. Blooma points out the mushroom cloud up ahead, coming from King Castle's direction. The King and his two guard dudes have just barely managed to escape in a little plane, and The King is upset about the town and King Castle. Piccolo stands in the newly-formed barren wasteland, and laughs about his victory. But then he freaks out, since he can still feel his ki. Piccolo looks up and spots Tenshinhan in the air holding Gokuu, and gets pissed about that dude who knows Bukuujutsu still being here. Tenshinhan comes down to the ground, and Gokuu thanks him. But, Tenshinhan's really exhausted, and Gokuu asks Ten-san what's wrong. Piccolo realizes using Bukuujutsu just then must've taken the last of his power, and combined with Gokuu's injured leg, Piccolo thinks he has this won. Piccolo starts powering up (for like the fifteenth time now), and says not to mess with his Bakurikimaha. This time, Gokuu's not gonna wait it out, and he rushes at Piccolo and hits him in the stomach. Piccolo is only affected for a short time, and Gokuu realizes he has less power with only one leg. Piccolo then launches his huge blast he was powering up for, I guess maybe his Bakurikimaha, and Gokuu shields himself to take it head on. Big explosion, and Tenshinhan is down. There's a huge hole in the ground where Gokuu was, and Piccolo thinks it's over. "K-Kintoun...!" Kintoun whooshes over to the hole, and comes back up with Gokuu hanging from it. Piccolo can't believe it, and Gokuu says Piccolo must be losing his strength after all. Piccolo refuses to believe he, Piccolo Daimaou-sama, could be opposed by a mere human, and Gokuu says since he has a tail, he's probably not human. Gokuu says he's also lost most of his strength, so they'll just battle it out to the death. But Piccolo won't have that, and he reaches over and grabs Tenshinhan by the head. "Alright then, try moving!! I'll smash this guy's head!!" 160: 孫悟空 最後の賭け!!
GOKUU: Crap...!!!
Piccolo thinks he's said too much, and starts to squeeze Tenshinhan's head. Gokuu yells to stop, and says he'll do as he likes. Piccolo tells him not to move, then picks up a rock and blows it at Gokuu (yeah blow, with his mouth (shut up!)), disabling his left arm. Piccolo says that humanity's weakness is its generosity, and Gokuu hesitates, then insists that they'll kill him somehow or other, and Piccolo asks how. "Ten-san, forgive me! I'm gonna defeat Piccolo!!!" Piccolo can't believe he'd just let him die, and Gokuu insists he'll return him to life with the Dragon Balls. Piccolo laughs and says how he got rid of Shenlong, and Gokuu can't believe it. Gokuu's at a loss again, and so Piccolo blows another rock at him, taking out his left leg, and knocking Gokuu down. Piccolo laughs at how Gokuu can't stand up right now, he's like a green caterpillar. Piccolo doesn't need Tenshinhan anymore, so he drops him to the ground. He'll take this one out later, but first he needs to take care of the brat. Piccolo laughs at how Gokuu can't do anything, so it finally ends here. Piccolo flies high up into the air, and prepares to take out this person who's kept him from making this a world of darkness. Piccolo then dives down at Gokuu, but Gokuu says he's mistaken, he has one remaining arm. Gokuu charges up this arm, then points it down at the ground, and fires a Kamehameha down, projecting him into the air towards Piccolo. Gokuu's gonna put everything into this fist, as Piccolo prepares to fire a counter blast down at him. 161: 孫悟空 勝つ!!
Gokuu continues flying up towards Piccolo with his fist out, until... Gokuu punches straight through Piccolo's stomach, putting a huge hole in it. Gokuu falls back towards the ground, as Piccolo contemplates his defeat. He won't allow the Demon Tribe to die out, and so he coughs up one final egg (Gokuu and Tenshinhan don't notice), telling it to avenge its father. And then Piccolo explodes, with the effects hitting Gokuu and sending him towards the ground. Tenshinhan's worried about Son crashing, but someone catches him -- Yajirobe! Gokuu's surprised to see him, and Tenshinhan's glad to see it's an ally. The others have landed on the battlefield, ducking behind the remains of a wall, and Yamcha, still with his broken leg, wonders what that explosion just was. (Yamcha has nunchaku, and Blooma and Good Lunch each have a gun.) Blooma asks if they really have to help, and Yamcha says of course, they can't just let their friends die. And, apparently things have been explained to Yajirobe. Tenshinhan compliments Gokuu's work, but Gokuu says his body's all busted up. Yajirobe offers to take them both to get healed up in his car, but Tenshinhan declines, saying just to take Gokuu. Tenshinhan wants to hurry and tell everyone at Kame House about this, and tells Gokuu to get healthy. But, before they leave, "Ten-san... Is it true that Kamesennin Grandpa died?" Tenshinhan tells him it's so, as well as Chaozu. "Shenlong too...?" Tenshinhan nods, and then perks up and tells Gokuu he's gonna train for the next Tenkaichi Budoukai. He tells Gokuu to train as well so they can fight again, and Gokuu agrees. Yajirobe drives off with Gokuu, who falls fast asleep, as Tenshinhan thinks he's really an amazing chibi. Then Tenshinhan spots the broken Nyoi Bo, and realizes Gokuu's so beaten up he forgot about it. And then Yamcha and the girls show up, asking where Piccolo is. Some time passes, and they help Tenshinhan back over to their little plane, with him apparently having explained things. Blooma contacts the TV channel inside the plane via the radio, and tells them to relay that everything's okay, Piccolo's been defeated. The person who did it was...a friend of justice... "And so it was just one little boy that rescued the world from the hands of evil... However, that peace... Won't last very long..." The little egg has hatched, and an ADORABLE little mini-Piccolo Daimaou has emerged. "I'll kill my father's enemy! I hate peace! Sooner or later, I'll do him in!" 162: 如意棒の秘密
Up atop Karin Tower, Gokuu is celebrating his recovery. Karin-sama says some stuff about Gokuu defeating Piccolo, something along the lines of him being mostly sure that Gokuu would win. But not completely sure, and if Gokuu had died, he'd've gathered the Dragon Balls himself and returned all the killed people to life. Gokuu is surprised to hear that Karin-sama knows about the Dragon Balls. "Hmph. Of course I do. There's nothing I don't know!" Yajirobe asks Karin-sama just how he plans on reviving anyone with Shenlong killed, and Karin-sama seems surprised to hear that. Gokuu gets pissed about this, and Yajirobe tells him it's fate. Karin-sama says the souls of those killed by the Demon Tribe won't pass on to That World, they'll just float around in space, and Yajirobe's glad he didn't die. Gokuu thinks there has to be something they can do, and Karin-sama tells him it's hopeless without Shenlong. But then Karin-sama gets an idea, and can't believe he's forgotten something so important. Gokuu asks what it is, so Karin-sama tells him he should ask the person who created the Dragon Balls to revive Shenlong. Gokuu wants to know who that is, and Karin-sama tells him it's...Kami-sama. "Kamisama...?" Yajirobe thinks Gokuu's a real idiot if he doesn't know who Kami-sama is, and Karin-sama tells Gokuu he'll permit him to meet with Kami-sama. Gokuu has the qualifications to meet with him, though Yajirobe doesn't. Gokuu asks where this person is, so Karin-sama tells him he's at God's Palace, up above Karin Tower. Yajirobe thinks he's kidding, this is supposed to be the top. Karin-sama tells him to hush, and explains that it's floating high in the air above Karin Tower. Too high for them to see from here. Gokuu says he'll just use Kintoun, but Karin-sama says Kintoun can't go up there. Yajirobe suggests using rockets, and Karin-sama says there's only one way to get up there. Gokuu is worried he'll have to jump or something. Karin-sama says the way to get up there is simple -- the Nyoi Bo. Karin-sama explains that the Nyoi Bo was once what linked This World to God's Palace, until he lent it to Mutenroushi. Gokuu realizes Kamesennin must've passed it on to Grandpa, then Grandpa to him, as he reaches for the Nyoi Bo. But, it's not strapped to his back, and Gokuu freaks out. Gokuu realizes he left it behind fighting Piccolo, and calls Kintoun and goes after it. Gokuu looks all over the battlefield, but he can't find it, and he's really worried, until he remembers, "When worried, see Uranai Baba..." So, Gokuu hops back on Kintoun and zooms over to her place. Gokuu explains to Baba that he wants to know where his Nyoi Bo is, and tells her to hurry up and bring out the five people so he can beat 'em. Baba says she'll give him a free fortune telling, though, because of the great thing he's done. Baba hops off of her crystal ball and looks into it, and says it's in this house here. Gokuu wonders why it would be at Kame House, then zooms off again. Baba says he really did rescue the world, and he'll also be the first human to be able to meet Kami-sama. Obake says he's never seen such a great person before. Gokuu bursts in the door at Kame House asking where the Nyoi Bo is, and everyone's happy/surprised to see him. Then Gokuu spots it, and rushes over and grabs it, saying how he's gonna return everyone to life by visiting Kamisama as he rushes out the door. Then he zooms off again, leaving everyone wondering what the hell he was talking about. Gokuu returns to Karin Tower, and then takes a second to catch his breath. Now that he has the Nyoi Bo, they can move on. So, the three of them climb out onto the roof of Karin-sama's weird little palace thing, and there's this big connector thing in the center that has a little hole in the tip. Karin-sama says to put the Nyoi Bo in the hole, and then he can make it grow to reach it. He gives Gokuu a little bell, and says it'll prove his worth. Yajirobe thinks it would be impolite for Gokuu to meet Kami-sama looking all tattered like that, but Karin-sama says it won't matter, he'll just get messed up again. "Huh!?" 163: 神殿
Yajirobe wants to know what he means about Gokuu's clothes getting tattered up there, and Gokuu asks if Kamisama's a dangerous person. Karin-sama explains that he'll be tested up there, but he has faith in Gokuu. Yajirobe doesn't much like the sound of that, but Gokuu's not worried. "Okaaaaay, here goes!! Extend, Nyoi Bo!!" Gokuu shoots up there, and Karin-sama thinks Gokuu'll be shocked when he sees Kami-sama's face. Yajirobe asks if his face is that frightening, but Karin-sama says it's not frightening, just familiar. The bo keeps shooting up, and then Gokuu finally sees the place. It's huge, and round, but flat on the top. It's like the bottom half of a sphere, think Cloud City. The Nyoi Bo finally stops, connecting in another big connector thing with a little hole in the tip, and Gokuu spots a ladder up above him. (The ladder is curved with the shape of the palace, not hanging down straight.) He swings up from the bo to the ladder, and climbs all the way up to the flat surface. Beautiful! The floor is tiled, no walls or ceiling, and there's all kinds of nicely kept trees, and a cool multi-buildinged temple on the other side. There's this genie dude standing in the middle of the floor, with black skin (not negro, but black like the color (or actually, lack thereof)) and big eyes and lips. Gokuu and the genie dude greet each other, and Gokuu asks him if he's Kamisama. "I Mister Popo. Kami-sama's servant." (Popo usually lacks certain grammatical elements in his speech, so it's kind of broken.) Popo compliments his work in defeating Piccolo Daimaou, and Gokuu asks how he knows that. "Kami-sama knows everything. Kami-sama great." Gokuu looks behind Popo, and asks if that (the cool temple) is Kamisama's house, and wants to go there. "You've brought proof of Karin's approval?" Gokuu shows him the little bell, and so Popo says he'll test him now. "You have match with Mister Popo. If you beat Mister Popo, you can meet Kami-sama." Gokuu thinks this'll be simple, and says to hurry it up. "You first human to come here. Test be fun." Gokuu starts things off by leaving an afterimage, but Popo just throws a punch out and hits Gokuu in the face. "Ah! Success." Gokuu wasn't expecting this, and tells Popo to get ready this time. Gokuu rushes at him, saying it'll be over with this one hit, but Popo just nonchalantly throws out another punch. "Success again. You not strong. Weak. You really defeated Piccolo Daimaou?" Gokuu gets pissed at being called weak, and decides to get serious. "Really? I'm glad." Gokuu comes at Popo with a kick, but Popo vanishes, then appears behind Gokuu and kicks him. Gokuu flies towards a tree, then swings around it and flies at Popo with another kick. But, Popo catches his leg, then throws him across the floor. "Mister Popo disappointed." Gokuu gets pissed at being called weak again, and rushes at Popo, but Popo blocks all of his punches. Then Gokuu swipes at him, but Popo flies up over it and floats in the air. "Testing you is pointless. Go home." 164: 神様登場
Gokuu can't believe this, as Popo tells him that while he might've been strong down there, up here, things are different. "Now, go home, go home." Gokuu insists he can't leave, he has to meet with Kamisama to return everyone to life. Then Gokuu asks if he can use this place for some special training, and Popo says to do as he likes, though it's futile. So, Gokuu tries to run some laps around the place, but then he gets dizzy and has to stop. "This is incredibly high in the sky. The air is thin," says Popo. Popo says something about moving faster than thunder when you're calm, and Gokuu thinks it a bit difficult. Popo says it's like this; your mind has to be empty. Blank expression. Gokuu says that's real calm, he can't feel his ki at all. Gokuu gets a blank expression on his face, too (very funny!), but Popo says that's just not thinking, it isn't emptiness. Gokuu thinks this is hard. Popo then demonstrates the moving faster than thunder by instantly moving behind Gokuu, and Gokuu says he couldn't see anything. Popo has his back to Gokuu, and says he even knows that Gokuu's touching his face with his right hand right now. "How did you know that!? Do you have eyes in the back of your head!?" Popo explains that he doesn't rely on his eyes to see, he feels the movements in the air. Gokuu says there's no way he could win against Mister Popo, and Popo says he's learned a lot from Kami-sama. Gokuu asks if Kamisama's more amazing than Popo, and Popo says he's much more amazing. Gokuu's happy to be around such strong people, but then asks Popo why Kami-sama didn't beat up Piccolo if he's so strong. Popo says Kami-sama has his reasons. Then Popo tells Gokuu he should keep going until he can beat him, but Popo doesn't know how many years it'll take. Gokuu doesn't mind that. A voice calls out, and Gokuu asks Popo if it's Kamisama, and it is. Kami-sama says he'll meet with him, and Gokuu gets excited. Popo leads Gokuu over to the temple, and they wait outside the grand entrance. Kami-sama slowly walks out, and he looks just like... "Piccolo!!!! You bastard, so you're still alive!!!" Gokuu flies over at Kami-sama, but Kami-sama just flicks him away, with Popo catching Gokuu. Kami-sama is also a wrinkly old green dude with pointy ears and antennae, but he has the kami ("god") kanji on his dress outfit instead, and he has a staff. Kami-sama can't believe that mischievous punk Karin didn't tell Gokuu anything, and so he decides to explain things. Long ago, he and Piccolo were once one genius martial artist. He'd come here to learn from God, but, unfortunately, God died. He wanted to become God's successor, but he couldn't, because he had this evil dwelling in the bottom of his heart. So, he trained fiercely until he could drive out that evil. The evil was Piccolo Daimaou. Piccolo fled from here to terrorize the people below, until Gokuu defeated him. Kami-sama says he'll give Gokuu something as thanks, so long as Gokuu will stay here and train. Gokuu is more than happy to do that, and then Kami-sama says he also knows why he's come here. As God, he can't personally return people to life. But, Shenlong is his creation, and so he can return him to life. Now, he'll return Shenlong to life, and revive the Dragon Balls! 165: 神龍復活!!
Kami-sama tells Popo to go get Shenlong, and so Popo comes back with a glass encased little Shenlong statue. It's in pieces, just like the real Shenlong was, and Kami-sama asks Popo to fix it. Popo sits down and glues the pieces back together, and Gokuu asks about this thing. Popo made this, and Kami-sama breathed life into it. Kami-sama explains that he gave the Dragon Balls to the people below to give them courage and hope, but they didn't use it for good things, just greed. Kami-sama says Gokuu's not like that, though, and then Popo's finished. Kami-sama tells them to stand aside, and he fires some magic blast thing over at the Shenlong statue. Then Shenlong shoots out of it down towards the Earth, and Kami-sama explains that he's going back to the Dragon Balls. Normally they'd be ordinary stones for the span of a year, but in this case, a wish can already be granted. Gokuu's excited to get to see everyone again already, but Kami-sama says he's staying here to train. After persevering for three years, he can see his friends again at the next Tenkaichi Budoukai. Gokuu asks why until then, so Kami-sama tells him Piccolo will surely be there, targeting his (Gokuu's) life. Gokuu freaks out, because he thought he'd defeated him. Kami-sama explains that just before he exploded, Piccolo had left behind an offspring. That offspring is getting stronger to exact revenge on Gokuu, and so if Gokuu stays here and trains for three years, he'll certainly be able to defeat Piccolo this time. He and Mister Popo can't fight him, so only Gokuu can do it. Gokuu says he wants to start training immediately, but first, he has to piss, and asks where the toilet is. Kami-sama and Popo fall over, and then Popo points Gokuu in the temple through the grand entrance. Gokuu runs in, and then Popo asks Kami-sama that since he and Piccolo were once one, if Piccolo is defeated, Kami-sama also dies. Kami-sama says it's unavoidable, and it's his duty. He's been meaning to do this for a long time, he's just been waiting for the right person to come along to replace him. And he thinks Son Gokuu just might be it. The Dragon Balls are gathered on Kamesennin's island, and Shenlong has appeared in all his awesomeness. Blooma says how he was dead, so Shenlong explains how Son Gokuu asked Kami-sama to return him to life. They wonder about this, so Shenlong says how he's training for the next Tenkaichi Budoukai at Heaven World. They can meet him again at the Budoukai. So, Shenlong's gonna grant the wish now, since he already knows what it is. Kuririn wakes up, followed by Kamesennin and Chaozu! And elsewhere, Namu and Giran each wake up as well! Then the Dragon Balls disperse, and some time passes. The newly revived people have been told of Piccolo's defeat, and Kamesennin asks just where Gokuu is now. Yamcha tells how Shenlong said he's training at Heaven World, and apparently Kamesennin knows of that. If Gokuu's training there, then he's learning from Kami-sama. Kuririn can't believe this, and Kamesennin says Gokuu's on a much different level than them now, leaving even him in the dust. Yamcha wonders just how much stronger Gokuu'll become, and Tenshinhan says he's anxious to see this Kami training at the next Budoukai, and then the others agree. Speaking of which, Gokuu is up there meditating, and doesn't much like this sitting still. Kami-sama says he needs to train his soul before anything else. And Tenshinhan, Yamcha, and Kuririn are all training for their reunion with Gokuu. 166: それぞれの再会
It's pouring rain outside of the Tenkaichi Budoukai grounds, and Kamesennin and Good Lunch stand with an umbrella, thinking the others are late. Then a taxi pulls up, and Blooma (with shoulder length hair now), Oolong, and Puer all get out. Kamesennin is amazed at the woman Blooma's become, and she elbows him in the face for touching her ass. Kamesennin thinks her personality hasn't matured, and Blooma says it's the same with him. Kamesennin asks why Yamcha's not with them, and Puer and Oolong explain that he left West City to train by himself. Kamesennin says Kuririn did the same, influenced by Gokuu's absence. "Ossu!" Kamesennin asks Blooma if she knows this tall dude in the turban, but she doesn't. "It's real good to see you alive, Gramps! Everyone else also looks healthy! Where's Kuririn and Yamcha and Tenshinhan and everyone? Are they already in the preliminaries hall?" Blooma: C-could...
Gokuu (who's all grown up now!) thinks it should be pretty obvious, and he gets excited when the rain stops. Gokuu realizes this thing on his head must make it hard to tell, and so he takes off the turban and says it must be unmistakable now (with his silly hair showing). Gokuu thinks Blooma and Kamesennin Grandpa have shrunk, but Blooma tells him he's just gotten huge. Gokuu says his hair hasn't grown, though. Gokuu asks Blooma if she has a disease because her lips are red, and she yells at him that it's lipstick. And then four more show up together: Yamcha, with long hair again (yes!) and some scars on his face; Kuririn, a little taller, but not nearly as big as Yamcha or Tenshinhan; and Tenshinhan and Chaozu are the same, wearing the same dressy outfits as they did to the last Budoukai, but instead of tsuru, they have ten ("heavens") and gyou ("gyouza"), respectively. Yamcha doesn't think much of their reaction (Blooma and everyone's a bit underwhelmed), and Kuririn thinks they must just be surprised at how they've all changed. (But actually, they're just more taken with Gokuu's arrival.) Kuririn tells Mutenroushi-sama to look at how he's grown, and then Gokuu tells Kuririn he seems healthy. Gokuu says everyone's here now, and Kuririn asks if that's really him. Then Kuririn runs over and hugs Gokuu, crying, and Yamcha and Tenshinhan are surprised that's really him. Some time passes, and a dude with a megaphone says for the participants to head to the competitor hall. Gokuu asks Kamesennin about giving them dougi, and Kamesennin tells him that since they're all doing fine walking their own path, there's no need for them to wear the Kamesen-Style's dougi. Then they all prepare to leave, but first, Tenshinhan leans over and asks Mutenroushi-sama if he'll be competing this time. Kamesennin whispers that he'll pass, since he can't compete with these guys anymore. Blooma thinks Son-kun has grown up really well, and Oolong thinks she's a bimbo. Inside, Kuririn has changed into a Kame dougi he had made at dougi shop, and Yamcha says they've thought alike, as he's wearing one as well. And Gokuu too, and then Yamcha asks him about his tail. Gokuu says Kami-sama took it because he wanted to restore the destroyed moon. For some reason, his tail was interfering with that... Then Gokuu feels something, and Yamcha and Kuririn wonder what's up. Gokuu has spotted this green dude with pointy ears, a turban, and a mantle -- Piccolo's offspring, and he's already grown to adult size. Yamcha and Kuririn asks Gokuu if they know this dude, but Tenshinhan recognizes him. 167: 波乱の天下一武道会
Piccolo's offspring and Gokuu smirk at each other, and then Piccolo's offspring coldly walks off. Tenshinhan asks if one of Piccolo Daimaou's henchmen had survived, and Gokuu tells him to keep this quiet, as not to cause a commotion. Yamcha, Kuririn, and Chaozu wonder what's up, and Gokuu tells them they (he and Tenshinhan) were just saying that dude was strong. A girl then comes up and taps Gokuu on the shoulder, and she knows his name is Son Gokuu. Gokuu asks who she is, and then she gets pissed and walks off. Kuririn asks who that cute girl was, but Gokuu doesn't know, and Kuririn's real jealous. Then this official dude says the preliminaries will begin. This time, there's only seventy-two entrants, considerably less than last time. Then the drawings for the preliminary blocks begin, and Tenshinhan telepathically tells Chaozu to scatter the gang's numbers, along with that dude (Piccolo's offspring). Gokuu gets #2, so he's in Block One's first match. Kuririn (who has #16, lower half of Block One) is impressed at how they're all scattered across the blocks, and Chaozu gives us the peace/victory sign. So, now the preliminary matches to determine the eight finalists will begin, and everyone is told to head to their proper blocks. Over at Block One, an official dude tells #1 and #2 to get onto the contest platform, and Kuririn tells Gokuu he's anxious to see Kami-sama's training. Tenshinhan and Yamcha notice Gokuu's up, and decide to go watch with Kuririn. Gokuu's opponent is once again King Chapa, and Chapa says things won't be like before. The match is called to begin, but Gokuu doesn't budge, and Chapa starts to get pissed. Yamcha says he can't feel a trace of Gokuu, and Tenshinhan says Gokuu's become completely empty, and King Chapa can't win. Chapa charges at Gokuu, and kicks at him, but Gokuu's gone. Chapa thinks maybe he's in the air like last time, but Gokuu is behind him, and pops Chapa on the back of the neck for a knockout. Everyone's impressed, including Piccolo's offspring, though he thinks Gokuu couldn't possibly win against him with those moves. And so, Kuririn, Yamcha, and Tenshinhan each win their matches. Chaozu, on the other hand, gets trashed, and he loses. His opponent was this dude with some weird helmet thing on his head, and goggly things for eyes, who says Chaozu's still alive, since he didn't wanna get disqualified. Tenshinhan looks up at the opponent, who greets both Tenshinhan and Son Gokuu. "T-Taopaipai!?" 168: 8勝者 決定!!
Gokuu can't believe this, and Tenshinhan says how he's supposed to be dead. Taopaipai says he doesn't die so easily, and explains that he was revived, though it took a while. (About six years...) Kuririn asks Gokuu who this is, so Gokuu explains that he's a hitman, as well as Tsurusennin's little brother. So, he's like Tenshinhan and Chaozu's senpai, and Gokuu was sure he'd defeated him. Taopaipai says he used all the money he's earned to be revived as a cyborg, as well as getting his power increased exponentially. Taopaipai doesn't care about about winning the Budoukai, he just wants to take the life of Son Gokuu. And after that, Tenshinhan, who's apparently betrayed them for the Kamesen-Style. Tenshinhan says he hasn't taken up the Kamesen-Style, he's just realized their teachings were no good. Tenshinhan tells him they'll fight, and Taopaipai thinks it'll be fun. Piccolo's offspring wins a match by flicking this dude, and Kuririn says a lot of really amazing people have gathered this time. Gokuu thinks that this offspring has surpassed the previous Piccolo. Then, Gokuu has another match, and he easily wins it, so #2 places in the finals. Then #35 (Tenshinhan), #16 (Kuririn), #22 (Yamcha), and #51 (Piccolo's offspring) each place as well. Taopaipai has apparently also placed, and then the cute girl from before, #59, wins her match. Gokuu thinks she does seem a bit familiar. Now there's only one match left. The two contestants are this masked fat dude, and a nerd. The nerd charges at the fat dude, and trips and falls on his face, just missing a punch from the fat dude. The nerd gets back up, and accidentally headbutts the fat dude in the face for a knockout. So, the nerd, #70, places. Announcer then calls the eight finalists over for the lottery. The fat dude, meanwhile, takes off his hood, revealing that he's... Yajirobe! Yajirobe thinks that nerd wasn't just a clumsy bastard, then gets changed and leaves with his stuff. Announcer (who now has a little mustache) is prepared to start the lottery, and then he screams when he sees Kuririn. Announcer starts praying, so Kuririn tells him he's not a ghost, he was returned to life. And so, the numbers were drawn, and Announcer makes up the chart. The Match-Ups! (Anonymous Hopeful is the cute girl, Ma Junior is Piccolo's offspring, and Shen is the nerd.) |
